March 12th, 2008
Opinion essay is one of the most frequently assigned academic papers. As it turned to be, a large number of students do not know how to write opinion essays and need a piece of good advice.
Before starting to write your opinion essay, think to yourself for a moment about importance of the language in our life. Language is an important link between your thoughts and a reader’s sensing. Ineffective language distorts the ideas. If you want your reader to get your idea, you should use a vivid language.
Here are tips on how to express your thoughts on a paper that you may use for your opinion essay:
- Never use worn phrases. Sounds easy but in fact, it is very difficult to do in practice. There are a great number of such worn phrases. If you use them, you will not call any emotional reaction from your reader. But of course, I am not talking about the set-phrases compulsory to use while opinion essay writing;
- Never use too long sentences if it is possible to cut it out. Long sentences only confuse a reader as they are much more difficult for reading;
- Never use odd words. Briefness is the sister of talent. Talk to the point and do not go deep into unnecessary details;
- Never use jargons, slang. Essay is a serious piece of writing that does not need spoken English language. Mind it if you do not want your essay to sound funny.
Remember that if you break at least one of the rules listed above, it can cause you failure.
